Vivo V60 Review: Should You Upgrade from the Vivo V50?

Alright friends, Vivo has finally brought the Vivo V60 to the market! Just about six months ago, we saw the Vivo V50, and now its next version is here. The big question is – is this a real upgrade? Has Vivo improved the right things this time? Let’s go through everything about the phone, from design to performance, and find out if this device is worth buying or not.

First Impressions & Design

The first thing you’ll notice is that classic Vivo touch – a sleek and premium feel in hand. This time, the V60 is also engineered with Zeiss tuning, which is something we have started seeing in the recent V-series lineup.

The phone comes in some attractive colors like Auspicious Gold, Blue (both with glass backs), and Grey (which is polycarbonate). The camera module is not oversized, and the overall design feels modern yet familiar.

Weight-wise, it’s around 193–195 grams, which isn’t exactly light, but not bulky either. You get Diamond Shield Glass protection and an IP68/69 rating, which means it can handle a bit of dust and water without worries.

Display & Multimedia Experience

Now, talking about the screen – the 6.77-inch FHD+ curved display really stands out. It supports HDR10+, and yes, you can enjoy that high-quality content on Netflix and YouTube. Add to that the stereo speakers, and you’ve got a solid multimedia experience for watching movies, shows, or even gaming.

Performance & Variants

Under the hood, the Vivo V60 runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. On benchmarks, it scores close to 1 million, which is a noticeable step up from the V50’s chipset.

Variants include:

  • 8GB + 128GB
  • 8GB + 256GB
  • 12GB + 256GB
  • 16GB + 512GB

Here’s a point to note: the phone still uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, which feels a bit behind compared to competitors in this price segment.

Battery Life & Charging

The phone packs a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging. In normal use, it easily lasts a day and a half, and thanks to fast charging, you won’t be stuck waiting for hours to top it up.

Cameras: The Main Highlight

Cameras have always been a big selling point for Vivo’s V-series, and this one doesn’t disappoint. You get:

  • 50MP primary sensor
  • 50MP ultra-wide
  • 8MP telephoto with 3X optical zoom
  • 50MP front camera

Portraits, skin tones, and edge detection are spot on, typical of Vivo’s tuning. There are tons of camera modes – Night Mode, Astro Mode, Super Moon, Micro Movie, Dual View, and even 100X digital zoom (though, realistically, 10X is the sweet spot).

Video recording goes up to 4K at 30FPS on both front and back, but I wish Vivo had added 4K 60FPS here.

Software & Updates

The Vivo V60 runs on Funtouch OS based on Android 15, and Vivo promises 4 years of major updates and 6 years of security patches. There are some pre-installed apps, but they can be removed or disabled. AI features like Smart Call Assistant and AI Magic Edit tools are also available.

Connectivity & Features

  • Wi-Fi 6
  • Bluetooth 5.4
  • 11 5G bands
  • NFC & IR Blaster
  • In-display fingerprint & Face Unlock
  • Dual Nano SIM (no eSIM)

It also supports Widevine L1 for HD streaming but lacks FM radio and notification LED.

Price & Availability

At the time of unboxing, the official price wasn’t confirmed, but it’s expected to launch around ₹39,999, with offers possibly bringing it down to ₹37,000–₹38,000.

Should You Buy It?

If you want:

  • A stylish phone with premium build
  • Great cameras for photography and videos
  • Long battery life and fast charging

Then Vivo V60 makes sense for you.

However, if you’re looking purely for maximum performance or gaming at this price, Vivo’s T-series or other brands might give better specs for the same budget.

Final Thoughts

The Vivo V60 is definitely an upgrade over the V50, especially in terms of camera quality, design, and overall user experience. It may not be the most powerful in its price bracket, but for those who value style, cameras, and a reliable daily driver, this is a strong contender.
